to online registration for Judging the
55th
State Science and Engineering Fair of
Florida
April 7th – 9th , 2010

In spite of all the educational
budget cuts, we are happy to say that the Science and Engineering Fair competitions
in our Districts and Regions are being continued this year! We did receive our funding from the Legislature in the amount of
$43,600 – down from $54,000 during 2009. Thank you for your support and contacting
your legislators last spring when we knew they were not going to fund us.
We are seeking more than 400 Judges in all areas of science to interview the talented students of Florida
on their scientific
research projects for 2010. We hope that you and your organization will provide the time and expertise
we need to provide high-quality face-to-face judging for this prestigious competition
– the largest academic competition in the state of Florida.
Our Florida students continue to excel at the Intel International Science and Engineering
Fair each year by winning more Place and Special Awards than any other state.
We have two levels of competition
– middle school students in grades 6 – 8 and our high school students in grades
9 – 12.
These students have already won at their Regional Fairs throughout
the state of
Florida. There are 14 categories to choose
from. The descriptions of these categories

from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM
for Judging.
This
will be an experience you will never forget as you interview students demonstrating
outstanding innovation and creativity–soon
to be part of our future workforce.
